About Dr. K

I am based in west central Wisconsin about 30 minutes from the Twin Cities.  I have been a runner since 1985 and ran cross country and track in high school, in the Army with a German running club (SSC Hanau Rodenbach), college cross country and track, twice earning DIII All-American honors in the 4x400 relay.  I was not the most talented, but I was not going to be less trained or fit than any of the athletes I competed against.  I continued to train and race (for fun) after college and still run recreationally.

I have been very fortunate to coach under and with some very accomplished coaches and learned from each of them to form my own coaching style and philosophy.

I completed my Ph.D. in Public Health while working full-time, being a husband and father, and coaching at the collegiate level.  I have coached numerous DIII All-Americans and school record holders during my 13 years of coaching college athletes.  I was also able to coach my daughter and son in high school and helped each of their 4x4 teams make state finals with my son’s team finishing 4th, proud Dad moment.
