My Coaching Philosophy
I have coached athletes from ages 6 to 25 and one thing they all have in common is that they want to have success. Success means different things to different athletes. It can mean running a personal best, competing in a conference meet, placing at a conference meet, qualifying for nationals, to becoming a national champion. In order to achieve that success, one must be willing to put in the consistent training over time, put forth the effort, handle the ups and downs of training and racing, and enjoy what you are doing. I am here to help you reach your success. I can’t make you do it, you have to want it, but I can help you reach your success with training, mentoring, helping you through the highs and lows of training and racing, and racing strategies. I rely on honest feedback to best help you and I provide you with honest feedback. I will push you when needed and back off when needed. I understand running is part of one’s life and take that into account among the other facets of life and how that plays into your goals and time to train. I enjoy helping athletes reach their best!

To do your best in the mid-distance events you need to be fit, have endurance, and have speed. I do this through Multi-pace training, so you are not only working one energy system on workout days, as that is not how one races to their potential. Depending on the training cycle, depends on the energy system focus areas, while not totally neglecting any one area.
